TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Bookings

  • All reservations, amendments and/or cancellations at Oceans Drift Guesthouse are valid only if confirmed in writing.

  • Deposits and cancellation charges are calculated on the full value of the entire stay.

  • Reservation Deposits Policy:

    • Reservations remain valid for 48 hours only, and will be cancelled if no deposit has been paid

    • In order to confirm a reservation a 50% deposit of the full value of the entire stay must be paid .

    • Once the deposit has been received, a written confirmation with booking reference number will be sent to the client.

    • The 50% balance of the reservation value has to be paid no later than one week before arrival.

  • Any charges other than for the reservation will be payable locally. All major debit and credit cards are accepted at our facility.

Cancellations

  • No fees will be charged for reservations cancelled within 24 hours of the booking. A full refund will be made to the client.

  • Cancellations up to 30 days before arrival are free of cost. A full refund will be made to the client.

  • Cancellations 1 to 30 days before arrival will be charged at 50% of the total booking. A 50% refund will be made to the client.

  • Cancellations within 24 hours of arrival will be fully charged. No refund will be made to the client.

  • A “no-show” is treated as a last-minute cancellation and therefor will be fully charged. No refund will be made to the client.

  • Cancellation costs may be waived should the accommodation be re-sold. In that case the client will be fully refunded, minus a 10% handling fee. Such refunds, however, are at the sole discretion of the Oceans Drift Guesthouse.

  • All cancellation costs are calculated on the full value of the entire stay.

  • We highly recommend that, in case of cancellation or other eventuality, you are adequately covered by a travel insurance policy.

Etiquette

  • Please advise us of planned early or late arrivals and departures. We will try our best to accommodate your needs.

  • Whenever possible, we will be in touch with you during the day of your arrival. If for any reason your journey or your expected arrival time changes substantially, we would much appreciate to be informed.

  • We will welcome you upon your arrival and make sure you are well situated in your respective room(s).

  • At all times, please be considerate of other clients staying at the guest house. We would appreciate if excessive noise or passage could be avoided, especially between the hours of 22h00 and 08h00.

  • During your stay, the guest house is accessible at all times. You are welcome to come and go as you are pleased. However, once again, night-time noise or disturbance should be minimal.

  • Other than booked clients, visitors are typically not allowed at the guest house without prior notice. Oceans Drift does not accommodate group gatherings or parties.

Damage

  • We ask your respect for our complete smoking-ban in the house and rooms. Smoking is allowed on the balconies, by the pool, and in the garden.

  • We are proud of our unique chacma baboon troops in the area; they are lovely to watch. However, we kindly ask you to always keep all doors and windows closed when you are absent, such that these clever animals don’t visit and forage in your room.

  • Damage to the grounds, house, room or furnishings, other than unavoidable or accidental wear and tear, may be charged to you account and will have to be settled upon departure.
